MEET AMANDA LYNN

My greatest interest is the human potential for self-actualization and the evolution of consciousness as a ‘whole being’ (physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and in relationship to kin communities and places).

I believe in the inherent wisdom and resilience of the body and psyche to seek life-affirming experiences and I am devoted to creating conditions for this inquiry process toward the transformation of self.

I understand the impacts of trauma and loss through my own personal journey and the courage and commitment needed on the path of self-discovery. My intention is to meet you where you are and to support you at a pace that feels right for your process.

In addition to my practice at Liminal Spaces, I offer counselling services at Camosun College for post-secondary students. My previous clinical experience includes the University of Victoria, and at the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre where I supported survivors of sexual trauma.

Training & Certification

I hold an MA in counselling psychology and a BSc in environmental studies and psychology from the University of Victoria.

My designations include Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) from the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors; Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association; Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner (GCFP) from the Feldenkrais® Guild of North America; and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) from Somatic Experiencing® International.

Additional training includes an Intensive Sex Therapy Training Program certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT); and Levels I & II of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing approved by EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).

With profound gratitude I acknowledge nearly two decades of training and mentorship from Dr. Ana Mozol (Depth Psychology and dreamwork), and Dr. Jeff Haller (Feldenkrais Method®).

Land Acknowledgment & Personal Statement

My work is informed by an ongoing personal inquiry of cultural and ancestral healing, and analysis of the impacts of colonization in my practice. I am committed to this process and aim to create a collaborative and inclusive space grounded in my values of equality, curiosity, and transparency. My worldview is informed by my lived experience as a disabled cis-woman, and as a fourth-generation settler of Icelandic, Ukrainian, Hungarian, and Swiss descent. I was raised on the Indigenous territories of the Muskowekwan Nation, Treaty 6 and Métis Nations, and on the land of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. I now live, work, and play on the unceded lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən, and W̱SÁNEĆ Nations. With humility and heart, I give thanks to the ancestors, communities, landscapes, and teachings that support my life and practice.
